McKayla Rose Maroney, also known as 'Mack Air Maroney' is a well-known American gymnast, who was awarded gold with the US Olympics gymnastics team and an individual silver medal for the vault event in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. Her parents were active in sports, which prompted her to start gymnastics at an early age. She is a specialist in vaulting. She is the only gymnast to successfully defend her gold medal. She which she first won at the 2011 World Championship, and then defended it in 2013 Championship. She was disappointed when she won the silver medal for vaulting was apparent and she hoped to achieve another gold medal at the Rio Olympic Games of 2016.
